Welmer
did not work the NCAA tournament from last year. He turned back his assignment because he got assigned only one game out of the first two rounds. Normally, veteran officials get assigned two games for the 1st and 2nd round. He felt it was a sign of disrespect.
Welmer did work the NIT tournament.
