I think your T "deficiency" was made-up in one of my games today.
And not only that, but I got my first "That was the worse officiating I have ever seen," from a parent as my partner and I were walking out the door of gym.
4 youth league games today (play-offs), and in the last game (U16) I called three T's and my partner called one.
All were justified player unsportsmanlike conduct-taunting calls.
Coaches were relatively calm.
Two T's (one was my partner's) went to the same player, so he was out in the 3rd quarter.
So, this particular parent happened to be the father of the two-T's player.
The dad was your typical control-freak a-hole-type... constantly yelling during the game... yelling at the refs... and even yelling across court to the coach to run such-and-such play.
In fact, my partner and I discussed at half-time how much more we would "listen to" to before getting the gym supervisor involved.
Anyway, as my partner and I are literally walking out the exit doors, this father steps in front of us and says, "That was the worst officiating I have ever seen."
And, so I used the line that many of us have seen on this board before...
"Uh, sir, that would be a statistical impossibility."
He pauses.
I continue, "To have the worst ref and the worst fan in the same building together."
And my partner and I walk on out the door.
May not have been all that professional, but, I did say "Sir", it was not during the game, it was on my way out the door, and damn if it didn't feel good...
And thanks to this board, that little comeback has been in the back of my mind for a season and a half now.
