Generally, in most shooting situations, everyone in the gym knows who the shooter is. This mechanic only becomes important during rebounding situations where it might not be as clear who got fouled. As a matter of habit, I get both players -- fouler/foulee....

I do the same thing, but I will also point to my shooter as well.
