The runner cannot return to 1B once time has been granted. This is a different situation than if, for example, the defense threw the ball out of play for a dead ball. In this situation, the runner is allowed to complete her baserunning responsibilities. But, even so, once she stops on a base, you can recognize any dead ball appeals the defense wants to make.
