I had a girls Freshman game that got out of hand score-wise. It was like 40something to 4'ish at halftime. During the 2nd quarter, the home coach (who was leading big time) leaned over and said "I'm trying everything I can to keep it down." I told him I could tell. The Varsity coach (who happens to be my cousin) was there, as game administration, and said to do whatever I could do discretely to balance it and he wouldn't say a word. The game ends, he said he noticed (scarcastically) that I may be coming down with either Parkinson's disease or ADHD because he noticed my arm swing for the closely guarded count was quite different for the teams. I smiled at him and said your girls really got rid of the ball fast didn't they, and they had to play defense a little longer, didn't they? He just laughed. It ended up 70something to somewhere in the low 20's. I know it wasn't the most ethical thing, but at least my partner was in on it, and she was feeling bad, because we both knew going in it was going to be ugly, because the home team is one of the top programs in the state, while the visiting team is more at the other end of the ladder.
