When I started(1959-60), the approved uni was a long-sleeved, broadcloth, black and white striped shirt buttoned at the wrist, gray slacks, white socks, white shoes. And you sureashell weren't allowed to roll the long sleeves up like the ref in the picture did. This looks like maybe circa mid to late '60s. You couldn't get Converse Chuck Taylors high tops or lo's in black until then...they started making 'em for the Celtics...and that looks like what he was wearing.

Ah, those were the good old days weren't they? I wish I could say I miss them because I didn't start officiating until the 1971-72 season.
