5-6-2 tells you the quarter ends when the signal
sounds indicating time has expired. I believe there is also a case play in this same section that says there is a foul called with 0:00 showing, but the horn has not sounded. FT's will be shot with players on the lane because the period has not ended due to the horn not yet sounding.
