In retrospect, I knew I should have sent him to the parking lot. You read my rationalization of my non-action in the opening post, but really that is what it was - rationalization.
The safety aspect of his remarks should have flipped the "zero tolerance" bit in my brain, but it didn't.
Again, thanks for the respectful lashing you folks gave me.
