There was an experimental reform: every group of three points was a glub; seven glubs were a fawret and five fawrets were a gammick. If a team scored a gammick, one fawret and three glubs (written 1'1''3''') was, of course, the winner. But European people (in the continent, ça va sans dire) were continuously arguing about the maths, so FIBA decided to return to count 1, 2, 3 and so on.

Seriously, now: the score sheet in FIBA is very different from the one used in the USA. I suspect it's even easier to read.
