Joel....
For just a few dollars more you can get the Dr. Scholls solid black shoe for a base shoe. It has superb arch support and a gel heel that actually makes a difference. I found these for the first time about 4 or 5 years ago and haven't even thought of any other shoe for a base shoe. I gets em at Wally World for around twenty bucks.
