They showed a replay from the angle the umpire had, and he was clearly screened from seeing the tag. He was trying to see the tag, but the runner's body was blocking his view. He should have asked for help. I'm pretty sure the 2nd or 3rd base umpire had a better view. The PU might not have seen the tag either, as his view was obstructed by F3 slightly.
