### You're reading too much into this. The Ref only has to issue the SW signal and point to one of the teams on the field or point to a sideline. Now the reason for the SW signal has been communicated to the other sideine, everyone in the stands and press box.

### Heck, the Ref can't have all the fun. He's not the one who has to put up with the problem sideline. The appropriate wing and side guys do, so let us issue a preliminary signal once in a while.
Besides, under NFHS rules we only get to do this one time as the second time we toss a flag for a SW and just report this to the Ref as with any other foul.
