I had a play similar to this a couple of years ago. Runner makes a wide slide into second base, avoiding the tag and just holding onto the back of the bag with his fingers. I see all the action and signal safe.
Almost at the same instant as I'm finishing my signal the runner decides he needs to stand up so he removes his hand from the bag and uses them to push himself up off the ground. F4 is standing right there and casually tags him.
I dropped my safe sign and came up with a big, "Now he's out!" The runner gets up and heads for his dugout on the 3b side as his manager just looks at him with outstretched hands and a look of disbelief on his face.
