How many times have people here praised the mercy rule for helping them get home sooner, or said they would take an extra strike (on a check swing) even if they didn't think the batter went around? Even opening up the strike zone could be considered "cheating", regardless of the score. Umpire99 is not the first person to adopt the attitude of calling more strikes and outs to get the game over with.

Maybe when you have umpired for a little while longer, you'll understand the difference. I doubt it, though.
