Despite his appearance, John McSherry was cat like quick and nimbled around the field like a natural like Steve Palermo. The last thing that anyone whoever met John said was, "Now there is a lazy, fat slob of an umpire." Another big man who was an exemplary umpire was Lee Weyer.
