The thread about verbal obstruction reminded of a situation I came across.

As BU we can hear F6/F4 yelling back and depending on the game (FED vs OBR) we deal with it. There are occasions when the defensive team crosses the line. Between innings 1B coach lets me know that the defensive coaches are yelling back from the 1B dugout (the dugout is long so the defensive coach could stand in line with the 1B coach). Of course, the defensive coaches are smart about it and only do it when there is a potential advantage to be gained so it is hard to notice. Sure enough, I pay attention and I can hear the adult voice coming from the 1B dugout on the first pitch to the batter in a potential sacrifice situation. We warn the coaches, who confess igorance and they claim maybe it was a player who yelled back.

I am wondering what would have happened if B/R had laid down the bunt and the defense made a banger play on R1 at 2B. Isn't umpire's judgment a wonderful thing?!
