Ed Hickox always cracks me up when I see him take his helmet off and see the hat underneath! He reminds me of Rick Moranis in Spaceballs
. The bill of the hat is there to support the traditional mask, which is necessary for a proper fitting mask. Otherwise, the mask would fall down on one's face. It is totally unnecessary (and a bit silly looking) to wear a hat with the HSM, IMO, YMMV, LSMFT.
