ACC Mechanics
I've watched over 30 games this year that have had ACC crews. The one thing that has really caught my eye is how vastly different mechanics are from crew to crew. For example:
R1 or R1 and R1&R3: Some crews are in A&C, some are in A&B, while others switch based upon the batter.
R2: Some crews are in B&D while others are in A&C.
R1&R2: Some crews are in A&C, some in A&B, while others switch between A&C and B&D depending upon the game situation.
R2&R3: Some crews are in A&C, some are in A&B, and one was in B&D.
Some crews rotate on almost every hit to the outfield with R1 or R1&R3 (U1 coming home UIC to 3rd) and others almost never rotate on the same exact play.
Some guys in deep B or C are parallel to the base line while others are parallel to the rubber.
I just find it interesting that the conference gives its crews so much leeway as to which mechanics to use.
