Would you be less angry if I told you that you did a good job in both cases?
The only possible thing that I personally might have done differently was in the
beisbol game. I don't believe in talking to fans. I would have stopped the game and let whoever game management might be deal with the fans. That's their job after you've identified the problem. If you can't find anyone from game management, suspend the game until they crawl out of wherever they're hiding.
Other than that, big ups imo for taking care of bidness. It helps all of your fellow officials down the road when you refuse to take crap like you detailed. If more officials would follow your lead, I'm firmly convinced we'd have fewer coach/fan problems.
