Runner also hesitates for a split second and goes to her right to avoid F6 allowing F6 to continue in a straight path toward the ball. There is no body contact.

Batted ball goes into center field about 2-3 strides beyond F6's reach.
In my judgement, F6 would not have had a play on the ball had R2 not caused the slight hesitiation of F6. However it would have beel closer, maybe 1-2 strides beyond her reach rather than 2-3.

D coach came out and wanted INT because F6 obviously had to hesitate for a split second.

How do you draw the line between INT and no call on this play?
Was there a play that F6 had that she didnt have because of the runners action?

Yes = INT
No = Play on

Of course a coach is going to want this.. the same as they are going to not want you to call it if it was their defender.

Give it all due consideration....

....

There, youre done.
