Also in WNBA, the basket does not count. I know this not from working WNBA -- I wish! -- but from watching a game on TV where the announcers thought the basket should count and had to be set straight by some expert who chimed in a couple of plays later.
Another example where TV announcers are not the best friends to refs. At least these folks had the expert available and were willing to listen.
