Well, okay, maybe, not really.

While the umpire must make an absolute safe/out call, that does not mean that the ball did not get there at the same time the runner contacts the base.

Speaking ASA, should this occur, the runner is, by rule, safe as the onus is on the defense to retire the BR/R prior to reaching the base (8.2.B & 8.7.C).
