Then there has to be an immediate judgment made by the umpire, and anyone who gives the ol' "I cannot read the player's mind" as an excuse to NOT make a call isn't worth the money they are taking for the game. Of course, we cannot read their mind. If we could, we wouldn't be spending our spare time out on a softball field.
Since we were not there, no one should have a problem with any call made by WMB since it was his judgment required to make a call.
