Flagrant foul

VB tonight. A1, for visitors, trapped in the backcourt threw a roundhouse elbow at great velocity which contacted his opponent on the side of the head. Easy call, I thought. Flagrant foul. He's gone. Coach not only disagreed with the call, but as near as I could tell, was not even familiar with the term.
"What? What was that? A technical? What?"
"Flagrant personal foul, coach. A foul of a violent or savage nature which may or may not be intentional."
He seemed puzzled. "That was violent or savage?? He's ejected??"
"All I can say, coach, is you must not have seen it," and walked away. Perhaps he didn't see it, or not very well, since it was in the farthest corner away from him. But isn't this all the more reason for a reasonable person not to question a call. Too much conversation, I know.

It'd be easier than arguing with you, Woodrow.
