I have a good friend who is a men's Div. I official in about six conferences and routinely makes it to the 3rd or 4th round of the NCAA. A few years back during the regular season I took my sons to a Div. I game that he was officiating. He called the foul, cleared the players and started to report the foul and before he gave the offender's number turned around took a couple of steps back to the scene of the crime, then turned back toward the table, and then reported the foul. He told me after the game he had forgetten the number of the fouler and had to go back and look to see what it was. So it happens to the best of us from time to time.
