However, there is a case book play about a player who dunks after the 2nd quarter ends. The game resumes with the 2FTs following the halftime intermission to start the 3rd quarter. The principle is the same. Finish the timing interval during which the T was earned and then continue with the penalty afterwards.

Order of occurance. Timeout was granted then the T earned. Finish the first item, then deal with the second.
