In a game between 7-8 year olds this happens.
With a runner on 1st base and nobody out, a ground ball is hit to the 2nd baseman. Runner from 1st starts towards 2nd base, but runs back toward 1st when the 2nd baseman starts chasing him with the ball, and he gets in rundown between 1st and 2nd. The batter touches 1st base, but he runs back toward home plate when he sees his teammate returning to 1st base.
The first baseman is standing on 1st base when he receives the throw from the 2nd baseman and he tags the runner who started at 1st, but after the runer safely got back to 1st. He then gets the batter in a rundown toward home, but the throw to the catcher is dropped, and the batter reaches 1st base. In the meantime, the runner from 1st base has now gone to 2nd base.
Who is out? Anybody?

I'm not sure if the "force" on the BR is reinstated if he retreats. Let's do it each way.
Force reinstated.
BR out the moment F3 receives the ball while in contact with 1B. R1 safe at 1B. TIME!!!!
Force not reinstated.
R1 out on the tag. TIME!!!!
I cannot find any other options in this play. Oh, and why am I calling time? Because you are dealing with 7-8 year olds.
