Off topic - typical Turkey Day

Damn straight. 😀 Juulie will tell you that Josh is a chip off the old block.

No way. Josh is a lot better guy than Mark could ever hope to be. 😀 Those kids (and choosing Merri) are without question the best think Mark has accomplished in his life.

But back to the subject. I had a nice day. All the comfort foods from my childhood, including mincemeat pie with whipped cream. My mom cooked it all, and did all the dishes afterward, bless her. The best part was having all my kids with me, healthy and well, and moving forward with their lives. It's the best T-Day I've had for years and years.

Why do you assume I thought about it? 😀

Typos can be fun.

Juulie - very glad you had such a peaceful and restful day. You deserve it, babe.

Thanks.... Hon.

You're right about the thinking thing. I'm very aware that thinking you thought at all, is a dangerous assumption. Or do I mean thinging you thingt? You're right about typos. hee hee...

From my all time favorite movie, "Inherit The Wind" with Spencer Tracy (Henry Drummond) and Fredrick March (Matthew Harrison Brady), the true story of the Scopes monkey trial.

Brady: (on the witness stand) - "I never think about things I never think about."
Drummond: (cross-examining) - "Do you ever think about things you do think about?"

Incredible film. The remake with Jason Robards was OK, but not as good as the original. BTW - I was in the play my senior year in HS. I played Drummond, of course.

Uh, yea, sure. I've got a nice piece of property in the French Quarter you can have for a couple hundred thousand. Interested?

Don't get the reference. Please explain. The original novel, "Inherit The Wind", was based very closely on the actual trial even though much of the dialog was dramatized, as it is for almost every adaptation.

Juulie - I'm sure you're familiar with the trial. It was a landmark case and led the way for the teaching of evolutionary theory in public schools.

Juulie's right, the movie, while possibly good or even great cinema, doesn't exactly deserve "the true story" as a moniker.

Loosely based.

Oh yeah - did I mention the restaurant also had octopus? I am not making this up. It was diced into some kind of vegetable salad. I didn't see anyone having any of that, though.

Probably nobody from Detroit was there.

Doesn't every seafood restaurant have octopus? And every Greek restaurant? If you see 'pulpo' on the menu, it's octopus. Not all that different from calamari (squid, BTW), but a little more chewy. Don't forget your dentures.

And if you ever order House Special Chow Fun in a Chinese restaurant, don't even think of asking what's in it. Last time I asked, there was some reference to "inside of fish stomach" among the ingredients, so I just don't ask anymore.

Eat and enjoy.

There are some in Texas that actually FRY turkeys.

But, I'll tell you one thing we all do: Right before the turkey is brought into the dining room for carving, we blow our whistle so any that were dunking bread in the turkey gravy can stop. 😀
