Last 5 seconds of fourth quarter and Team A is behind by 2 points. A1 shoots and misses but is fouled by B1. During the administration of the free throw lead official tells both teams that "its a one and one situation".. A1 shoots first free throw, misses, but A-2 rebounds and scores with 3 seconds left in game. Time runs out before Team B can inbound the ball after the goal. Game is tied and as officials go to scorers table to start overtime, the scorer tells the referee that A1 is entitled to one more free thow.
Questions:
Is this a correctable error? Does the rebound basket by A2 still count? Does A1 get his one more free throw as part of fourth quarter or do you start the overtime with a free throw?
