Please note that there is no such thing as a license or certification. You pay your registration, you get training (which varies from area to area, org. to org.) and you get to take a test. Some organizations take the test seriously, some don't.

You also get the opportunity to pay for all you equipment and uniforms d:-)

You then get a schedule and start working as an umpire.

Different organizations offer various levels of training. I am without a doubt biased, but I believe ASA offers the best softball umpire training in the country. d:-)
