Tossed another coach. That makes 2 years in a row for a total of 2 in eight years. Let's see if I can capture the hilites (lowlites??).
1) Before the game even starts, I know this team won't be happy with my strike zone. They want strikes to be called above the brim of the helmet - just ain't gonna happen (not even on a bad day). This is proved out by all the "Ohmygawd's" that I ignore.
2) Add to this a close play at the plate that goes against them, and a HBP that only I could see - again, not in their favor (ball altered course in mid-air, batter reacted).
3) After hearing all the Ohmygawd's from the dugout, the pitcher now starts dropping her jaw when she doesn't get a strike. Next 3 pitches land are consistently in the dirt.
4) Then the coach (pitcher's father - never a good combination) begins telling the team that I have a vendetta against them. That's when I call time & tell him to knock it off. He keeps flapping his jaw and I send him to the parking lot.
Other lowlites: Players timing the pitcher with their cheers. These coaches were so pre-occupied with my strike zone that they missed 4 (yes, I said four) opportunities to appeal at home plate for a missed base.
