This year alone we have had 3 Intentional Interference calls resulting in a DP.
Personally I cannot remember any during the past decade or so.
I realize baseball is not football but why the sudden adherence to the rule. It appears MLB is leaning in the direction of FED/NCAA.
A rolling cross body block at either F4/F6 used to be the accepted practice. Now at least in the judgement of one umpire it is Intentional Interference.
Peraps we will get that re-write of OBR in the near future.
Bottom Line: Good call but as mentioned something that hasn't been called in MLB until this year.
