Richard is correct that IAABO will not get you games in California. I checked your profile and it says that you are located in both New York and California, so I am guessing that you are moving from New York to California, and belong to an IAABO Board in New York.

Assuming that you are a member of IAABO, then you all ready know that IAABO mission is the training of officials and the education players, coaches, and fans in the rules of basketball. One can think of IAABO as a technical organization similar to the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Matt S. is correct about how to get certified in California. When I lived in Glendale, CA, in the early 80's, I belonged to the San Gabriel Valley Unit of the Southern California Basketball Officials Association. Back then the SGVU was one of the leading Units in the SCBOA. I am sure the Matt S. can put you in touch with the people that can help you get situated in California.

But if you are a member of IAABO do not give up your membership. If you check your IAABO Handbook, you will see that IAABO has three Boards in California. If you do not fall within the jurisdictions of these Boards, you can change your membership to an Individual Member status.
