Considering what I see in the dugout and not on the store shelf, $200 is the starting price for the metal bats, not the average.
Brett Brothers Bat Company supplies local teams with wood bats for about $30 a pop. Elite team coaches tell me that on average each kid will go through three to four wood bats a season and that they buy a new metal bat each year. Expense doesn't seem an issue.
