It might be the 'other' game but...

A tip of the cap to Bruce Froemming, who, as all here probably know, is working the final games of his 37 year MLB career this weekend. Let us not forget the man worked 13 years in the MINORS, before finally reaching the Show.

No matter what you may feel about his abilities as an umpire, one HAS to admire the dedication it takes to do what he has done, and to see just what he had to go through to get where he has been, you should try and find Larry Gerlach's MEN IN BLUE at the library sometime. If he seemed to be 'hanging on' the last few years, he has good reason to - a personal vendetta by the NL umpires supervisor back in the 60's probably kept him in the minors a solid five years! It is a pretty interesting story that explains a lot about him...
