Throwing a glove at batted ball

Hello,

I saw a strange play this week at a High School Fall Baseball game.
The batter hits a hard short to the leftside of the shortstop, he sees immediately he can not get too it and throws his glove at the ball. I know we have nothing here since his glove did not hit the ball. Lets just say his glove did hit the ball what is the proper ruling on this under National Federation Rules.

Thank You
