Hey!
How did I get dragged into this?!?
One thing being a Cubs fan has taught me: humility. I still root for them, no matter how it ends up. I'm enjoying this season, because there are meaningful games being played in Sept. But I'm as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair factory, because I know nothing is definite yet. If they win, it will be great. If they lose, I'll take the abuse. (God knows I'm used to that...) The Cardinals have proven that the best team doesn't always win the World Series. The Cardinals have lost more World Series than the Cubs. What does that prove, exactly?
If you're going to openly root for a team, you better be prepared to take the abuse when they lose.
Especially when they lose in spectacular fashion.
To an unranked, unknown, Div. 1-AA team.
In a game many are calling the greatest upset ever. (...snicker...)
