Every State has a different type of teaching and assignment for officials. In Wisconsin, USSF is by far superior in training of new officials so if you want to learn
go that route. The NFHS has testing and rules that are somewhat different but the better pay is at the high school and college levels. Start out at the youth club or JV high school and learn b-4 you jump into the deep end. Don't downplay a linesmans role, just because you are an AR your job is quite important and just as likley to get you guff if you blow/miss a call.
