Bob,
congrats.
Just remember to treat that young lady running the umpire camp like she is a queen, because she is a tremendously fine lady — and makes a fine burger.

If you are doing the dish on the Bud field, treat your scorekeeper with all the respect due her, because they should clone her and use her for scorekeepers around the country. Plus, if you are kind to her, she will make sure you have plenty of ice cold water. Last year in that furnace, she was making sure I had a new ice cold one every inning.

If you are working the late game on Saturday, don't expect any food to be left at the "umpire banquet." I've never eaten there, but I've heard it's pretty good. ("Oh, I'd be happy to get you something from the bar," the waitress says. "Yes, some iced tea would be good," sez I. "Long Island or Electric?" sez she. "Sorry ma'am, I'm an alcoholic, I don't drink, and I'm going to Elmer's to get some breakfast." "Well, I could get you some peanuts." — actual dialogue from 2003)

And...don't forget your blue pants!
