I worked with an ex CBA official last night & whenever he gets bored with the quality of play he throws little things like that at me. I guess just to see if I'm paying attention or if I am going to ask him why he did whatever he did. He clearly said NOT to use it in HS/NCAA games or camps but it might be a good style to mix into the Summer Pro Am League.

Let me reassure you that this is
NOT used in the pro game and is not used in the pro-am I work. That does, imo, look stupid. What if you do that when a team is down 15 to 20 and they(the team down) foul a guy and they get an and 1. Well the coach is probably going to say, "It's not bad enough I'm getting beat by 20, but you just shove that and 1 up my a**, well you know what, screw you." Then you have to dump the coach and it just looks bad altogether.
I'm not saying anything about the guy because in pro ball personal preference is the spice of life, and life being basketball, so if he wants to use that I guess it's ok but I don't know one NBA referee who does that.
