"So he thought" is correct. Some, maybe most players, think this is a way to kill the ball and limit Rs advancing to one base. This is what I meant above, it was poorly worded. OFs who run willfully into DBT, I agree, and this was actually who I was thinking about. Appreciate the clarification, thanks.
