So I generally go with push on a trip from behind, but I sure would rather use the kicking signal for clarification.
I use the block signal at the table as well as pointing to my foot that is slightly raised from the floor. I do the block first and then point down to my foot. Its just the way I do it......and others may do different as stated above. I know the combination is not a "book" mechanic, but its my way of communcating what happened.
