As a PT in my day job (not gonna give it up!), I feel obligated to chime in here.

Microfracture surgery is usually followed by several months of decreased activity and it can take 1-2 years to get back to close to normal. It's the kind of thing you can't push along without risking additional damage.

Amare Stoudamire is a good example...two years later, he's back. And this is someone who obviously has millions of reasons to return and a rehab staff at his beck and call.

My advice, be patient, see a PT, and work your tail off. It doesn't have to be torturous--but you will work hard.
