A fine tribute to a good man:

THE JOY OF JODY:
Everything that Seth Davis wrote about referee Jody Silvester and the high level of respect that he has earned is true. However, Davis missed an attribute that sets Silvester apart from other basketball officials working today: He has fun referring a game. This attitude is unusual and, with Jody's retirement, may become extinct. Jody has remained a breath of fresh air in a game that has become too much of a business.

I have had the pleasure of working w/ Jody in the Big Ten. He is indeed a pleasure to work with. He is a professional and the game will miss him. However, some of that passion does pass on to the younger refs that Jodie has worked with. It's contagious to all ages.
I didn't read S.I. but I'm sure it did him justice. My best to Jodie.
