You beat me to it, Larks. That was exactly my thought when I read the original post. This is a moment that could determine the tone for the entire rest of the game. In this case, if the defender just used two hands to bring the shooter to the floor, or to push him away from the basket, I think you HAVE to have an intentional. If not, the shooter may start looking to even the score later. Then all heck can break loose.
