NF, and NCAA women's the player is considered an airborne shooter until they return to the floor on a shot. NCAA men's the player is an airborne shooter until he releases the ball on a shot (I'm not exactly sure how the rule book words it, but this is the essence of the rule). Basically, it boils down to the fact that in NF, and NCAA women's, if a shooter releases the ball, and then charges into a defender the basket will not count. If, in Men's the shooter releases the ball before the contact, you will count the basket and have a foul on the offense.
