This finally provides rules support for the case play where the player loses the ball end the endzone (and the ball goes back into the field of play and ends up OOB) where a player also fouls in the field of play while the ball was in possession of the player in the endzone.
The way the rules were written this was always a safety since the end of the run was in the EZ, but the case play didn't match the rule. Now the updated 10-4 rule appears as though it will provide support for the result they really want in the case play.
