The advantage is to get their kids riled up, to build the emotions of the team. That's exactly why the original poster got his first T -- because he thought it would fire up his team. And the difference between that and a strategic foul to stop the clock at the end of the game is the
intentional unsporting behavior. In a

Who has ever said anything about whether the coach cares what we think? Of course he doesn't care. He doesn't care about sportsmanship. So why would he care what we think about sportsmanship. That's completely beside the point. Irrelevant.
