I think age has a lot to do with people's work or ability. Just like weight is also a factor. And even race or ethnicity can help eliminate issues of bias just like where you might live. Considering that we are judged on all these things in some way, ability is very subjective. Also we are judged anyway in all types of jobs by factors that have nothing to do with our job directly. Why would we expect officiating to be any different?
