I work a middle school league here where there is no backcourt defense, period, except the last two minutes of each half. And then, you can only play bc defense if your team is behind by one or more points. If you're tied or ahead, no bc defense at all.
Running 9 minute quarters, too, except for the last two minutes of each half.
